Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) can help workers address a health and safety matter in a number of ways.
These ways could be:
- assessing the risk
- gathering information
- asking others (such as other HSRs, workers or a union) for input
- recommending solutions
- discussing the matter with the duty holder.
If the matter is still not resolved, there are several options. For example, a trained HSR can start the process to issue a Provisional Improvement Notice (PIN).
Addressing a health and safety matter with support from an HSR is an infographic which illustrates how an HSR can help workers to sort out a health and safety matter. It also outlines the process for issuing a Provisional Improvement Notice (PIN).
