Service stations store and dispense large amounts of hazardous substances, especially flammable substances such as petrol, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

It’s very important that hazardous substances are stored and handled safely and according to the law. A service station generally has underground storage tanks for their hazardous substances, petrol and diesel fuel dispensers and a shop that sells automotive products, oils and solvents. Some service stations also sell LPG - either as an automotive fuel or for replenishing LPG cylinders.
