The Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances—Polyethylene Above Ground Stationary Tanks for Diesel Fuel) Safe Work Instrument 2017 sets requirements for the design and construction of a tank (including its integral secondary containment system), the venting, marking, installation, inspection and testing of a tank, and the design, construction, and installation of a liquid level indicator.

The location of the WorkSafe New Zealand office has changed since the Gazette notice was published.
The standards are available for inspection, at no charge, between 9.00am and 5.00pm from Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays) at WorkSafe New Zealand, located at 8 Willis Street, Wellington 6011.
