We consulted on two proposed Safe Work Instruments (SWIs) between 14 and 28 May 2018 to support the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017(external link) (the Regulations).
The two proposed SWIs and consultation document are below:
Submissions summary
We have summarised key submitter feedback from consultation on the proposed SWIs, our responses to this feedback and any resulting changes to the SWIs.
The SWIs will commence on 1 August 2018. and the finalised SWIs can be accessed on our Safe Work Instruments page.
We received submissions and, where appropriate, made changes to reflect this feedback.
The Summary of Submissions provides us analysis of the feedback received and records the resulting changes. The submissions led to changes in one of the SWIs.
The SWIs sit alongside the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 and specify alternative validity periods of compliance certificates for stationary container systems and additional design standards for refillable cylinders.
