Outcome of investigation: 

A mains-operated hot water faucet exploded causing moderate damage. On investigation it was discovered that the home owner, or some other person, had altered the internal settings of the unit causing a malfunction and overheating. Energy Safety carried out an audit on the product and all testing documentation appeared to be in order. No further action will be taken and the owner has been advised.
