Notifications
If someone has been seriously injured, become seriously ill, or died as a result of work – phone us on 0800 030 040 straight away. We have staff available to respond to these 24/7.

Notifications made through our online form won't be monitored between 12pm on Tuesday 24 December 2024 and 8.30am on Monday 6 January 2025.
If you’re not sure if you need to notify us, use our online notification system and we’ll respond to you after 6 January 2025.

Court Summary - at a glance

Between 1 August 2019 and 1 November 2020, six of Flick’s fumigation workers suffered from exposure to methyl bromide.
One was hospitalised, and the other five were tested to have methyl bromide poisoning and reported symptoms consistent with methyl bromide exposure including memory loss, tingling in the fingers, light footed, impact on sight and balance, mood changes and stinging in the eyes.
Costs:
- $150 travel costs for one of the victims
- $7,314.50 legal costs in favour of prosecution
- $4,830 investigation costs in favour of the prosecution
