The Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 (the Regulations) allow WorkSafe to issue performance standards which set out requirements that compliance certifiers must comply with.

Compliance certifiers check compliance with specific regulatory requirements to ensure hazardous substances are safely used, handled, stored or manufactured. Compliance certifiers issue compliance certificates where the Regulations specify that one must be obtained.

Before issuing a performance standard, WorkSafe must consult compliance certifiers and any other persons appropriate. Your comments and feedback about the draft Location Compliance Performance Standard will be considered prior to finalising the performance standard.

Feedback is welcomed from individuals, businesses and industry associations. If you are an industry association, please bring this consultation to the attention of your members.
