Notifications made through our online form won't be monitored between 12pm on Tuesday 24 December 2024 and 8.30am on Monday 6 January 2025.

WorkSafe has exempted Uhlenberg Haulage Ltd from compliance with regulations 16.16, 16.19, 16.20, 16.22, 16.23 and 16.34 of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017.
WorkSafe has exempted Uhlenberg Haulage Ltd from compliance with regulations 16.16, 16.19, 16.20, 16.22, 16.23 and 16.34 of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017.
An exemption has been granted by WorkSafe in accordance with section 220 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 to Uhlenberg Haulage Ltd to allow two LPG tank wagons to receive tank wagon design record numbers in accordance with the attached schedule.
The exemption is made subject to the following conditions:
- Uhlenberg Haulage Ltd must operate and maintain these tank wagons in accordance with Part 16 the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017.
- Within 3 months of the date of this exemption, Uhlenberg Haulage Ltd must engage an engineer to assess and report on compliance with the requirements of regulations 16.16, 16.19, 16.22 and 16.23.
- As soon as practicable and no later than 12 months after receiving the engineer’s report under (b), Uhlenberg Haulage Ltd must implement all recommendations from the engineer’s report to achieve compliance with the requirements of regulations 16.16, 16.19, 16.22 and 16.23.
- Uhlenberg Haulage Ltd must increase the static roll threshold to 0.45g when major works are undertaken on the sub-frame of a tank wagon or prior to the expiry date of the exemption.
- Uhlenberg Haulage Ltd must notify WorkSafe (hsapplications@worksafe.govt.nz) when conditions b, c and d are completed.
- Uhlenberg Haulage Ltd must fix the issued record number to the respective tank wagons in a manner that will ensure it will remain legible for the life of the tank wagon.
The exemption takes effect on 2 July 2018 and expires on 2 July 2023 unless it is sooner replaced or revoked.
