The notifier provided Energy Safety with information about the incident by email.
The notifier does not know where the gas that caused the explosion was leaking from. The pilot was lit and the main burner control was turned to on and the main burner did not light. The notifier indicated that he was willing to send the burner to Energy Safety and courier tickets were sent to the notifier on 29/4/16. This was followed up by email on 12/5/16 and a visit to the notifiers address on 26/5/16.
Due to insufficient information being available to make a determination, and because the notifier is no longer responding to Energy Safety, the event has been closed.
