Many workers are required to lift, push, pull, or carry objects or assume awkward and unbalanced postures for sustained periods of time, which can lead to painful injuries and long-term health concerns.
We have produced guidance with ACC on the manual handling of objects.
Code of practice for manual handling
This code of practice sets out a process that may be used to identify, assess and control the hazards associated with manual handling.

Please read this guidance in conjunction with all relevant industry standards that apply to you as a PCBU. This guidance will be progressively reviewed and either updated, replaced with other guidance, or revoked.
