How to become a certified handler, an approved filler, or a compliance certifier.
Certified handlers
If you handle or store certain hazardous substances you may need a compliance certificate.
You can get one from a compliance certifier. They will tell you what is needed so they can issue the compliance certificate.
Approved fillers
People filling gas containers with gases under pressure must be an approved filler.
Controlled substance licences
A Controlled substance licence (CSL) is required to possess certain explosives, vertebrate toxic agents or fumigants.
Becoming a compliance certifier
A compliance certifier is an independent person authorised by WorkSafe to issue compliance certificates. A compliance certificate confirms that the individuals, sites or equipment are compliant with the hazardous substances legislation.
