The Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 require a Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) with management or control of a hazardous substance location (HSL) or transit depot to notify us of the HSL or transit depot before it is commissioned (i.e. before receipt of the hazardous substances that are required to be at a HSL or transit depot).

Note: If you are, or may be, a Major Hazard Facility, please also complete the Major Hazard Facility Notification Form.

Notification time frames

Hazardous Substance Location (excluding LPG) or Transit Depot: At least 30 working days prior to commissioning

Hazardous Substance Location (where LPG is to be located): At least 5 working days prior to commissioning

Please state the metric unit for the quantity of each class and where there are a variety of units ensure that they are listed separately. ie: L – liquids, kg – solids and non-permanent gases, m3 – permanent gases.

Please note: where certification for a location is triggered by more than one classifications, eg: substance/s may be both a class 3.1B and a 6.1C, you are required to enter the appropriate information under each relevant classification in the form.
