World Day for Safety and Health at Work and International Worker’s Memorial Day is an important day to remember those who haven’t made it home from work. In 2022, these days fall on 28 April.
Every death caused by work is a tragedy. Our mahi helps to prevent future tragedies, reduce harm, and to ensure everyone who goes to work comes home healthy and safe.
This year’s theme for World Day for Safety and Health at Work is acting together to build a positive safety and health culture.
We can all take action to improve safety and health at work - that includes workers, leaders, and people with influence over safety and health at work.
WorkSafe is challenging everyone across Aotearoa to act together by committing to a specific action to help build a safe and healthy working culture - for yourself, your workmates, friends, whānau and community. We’re doing this online via our social media channels and have also shared the challenge with some of our key partners so they can do the same.
You can get involved too. View the challenge, share your own commitment, and share our posts to your friends, whānau and networks from:
You can use the hashtags #SafeDay2022 and #IWMD22 to link your posts to other activity related to the day.
