Steve Ellis has been appointed to the New Zealand Mining Board of Examiners.
Steve is a returning member and brings with him not only a wealth of experience in the quarrying sector but also a strong passion and commitment to health and safety and training and upskilling to build capability in the extractives sector.
These changes are part of the regular cycle that all boards go through as terms end and the mix of skills of the members is reviewed and adjusted to meet requirements.
Steve is senior member of the quarry industry with a strong track record of people leadership in safety, quality, environment, and technical innovation at all levels in the industry. He has served on the Institute of Quarrying Board, including as president. Last year the Quarries Division of Stevenson’s Group, of which Mr Ellis is general manager, won the WorkSafe Chief Inspector Extractives Safety Leadership Award.
