Media coverage of Law Society considering complaint about Withdrawal of Charges Against Pike River CEO Peter Whittall

A number of media outlets in their coverage of the complaint are attributing the decision to withdraw the charges to WorkSafe.

This is factually incorrect. The decision was taken by the then Health and Safety Group of MBIE. WorkSafe did not exist at that time.

It would be appreciated if online content is corrected and future coverage attributes the decision correctly.
